02 / COMPOSITE REEFER BODY

GRP reefer bodies.
Light by design.

A lightweight composite body system for temperature-sensitive cargo—planned around your vehicle, payload, operating range and delivery route.

Final payload, body dimensions and temperature performance depend on the selected chassis, insulation build and refrigeration unit.

Composite strength.
Efficient thermal design.

Glass-reinforced plastic skins form the protective inner and outer surfaces of a composite sandwich panel. Insulation and reinforcement are specified to balance thermal hold, body strength and payload for the intended duty.

01

Lightweight GRP skins

Corrosion-resistant composite faces help keep body weight in check while protecting the insulated panel assembly.

02

Fewer exposed joints

Single-piece panel construction can reduce seam count and weak points, subject to the body design and dimensions.

03

Insulation selected for duty

Polyurethane and XPS insulation can be specified across the body to meet the thermal and loading requirements.

04

Reinforced structure

Panel reinforcements and floor construction are considered for cargo loads, vibration and repeated operation.

A typical reference range is approximately −25°C to +25°C with a suitably sized refrigeration system. The usable range, insulation build and payload must be confirmed for each vehicle and application.

Move sensitive goods
with confidence.

GRP body designs can serve delivery work where weight, hygiene routines and thermal performance all matter.

01

Pharma and healthcare

Temperature-sensitive products carried to distribution points and care facilities.

02

Dairy and beverages

Daily delivery cycles with repeated stops and loading activity.

03

Frozen and chilled food

Cold-chain movement for packaged goods, meat and prepared foods.

04

Fresh produce and quick delivery

Last-mile routes where body layout and operating range are tailored to the cargo.

Designed to fit
your delivery routine.

Options can be planned around loading flow, cleaning, cargo control and service access. Final compatibility depends on chassis and body dimensions.

FLOORING

Secure footing

Anti-slip aluminium or GRP finishes, selected for grip, cleaning and load conditions.

LOADING

Access that works

Tail lifts, access hatches and service ladders can be assessed for your workflow.

CARGO CONTROL

Organised transport

Load rails, shelving and fixed or flexible partitions can support different cargo layouts.

REFRIGERATION

Matched system

Vehicle-powered or self-powered refrigeration arrangements can be considered with the body.

Before you specify.

We can help align the body construction with the vehicle, cargo, route and temperature target.

What does GRP mean?

GRP stands for glass-reinforced plastic. In a reefer body, GRP forms the composite inner and outer skins around an insulated panel core.

What are the benefits of GRP panels?

GRP is lightweight and corrosion-resistant. Combined with a suitable insulated core, it can support efficient temperature-controlled transport. The right body build depends on the vehicle and service conditions.

What temperature range can a GRP reefer body support?

Reference configurations may cover approximately −25°C to +25°C with an appropriately selected refrigeration unit. Actual performance depends on the system build and operating conditions.

Which chassis can be considered?

Light, intermediate and heavy commercial vehicle platforms can be evaluated. Chassis suitability is checked against body size, payload, refrigeration equipment and use case.

What do you need to prepare an estimate?

Share your chassis or vehicle model, cargo type, target temperature, body dimensions, route profile, loading process and any required options.
