02 / COMPOSITE REEFER BODY
A lightweight composite body system for temperature-sensitive cargo—planned around your vehicle, payload, operating range and delivery route.
Final payload, body dimensions and temperature performance depend on the selected chassis, insulation build and refrigeration unit.
The GRP build
Glass-reinforced plastic skins form the protective inner and outer surfaces of a composite sandwich panel. Insulation and reinforcement are specified to balance thermal hold, body strength and payload for the intended duty.
Corrosion-resistant composite faces help keep body weight in check while protecting the insulated panel assembly.
Single-piece panel construction can reduce seam count and weak points, subject to the body design and dimensions.
Polyurethane and XPS insulation can be specified across the body to meet the thermal and loading requirements.
Panel reinforcements and floor construction are considered for cargo loads, vibration and repeated operation.
A typical reference range is approximately −25°C to +25°C with a suitably sized refrigeration system. The usable range, insulation build and payload must be confirmed for each vehicle and application.
Where GRP fits
GRP body designs can serve delivery work where weight, hygiene routines and thermal performance all matter.
Temperature-sensitive products carried to distribution points and care facilities.
Daily delivery cycles with repeated stops and loading activity.
Cold-chain movement for packaged goods, meat and prepared foods.
Last-mile routes where body layout and operating range are tailored to the cargo.
Common questions
We can help align the body construction with the vehicle, cargo, route and temperature target.
GRP stands for glass-reinforced plastic. In a reefer body, GRP forms the composite inner and outer skins around an insulated panel core.
GRP is lightweight and corrosion-resistant. Combined with a suitable insulated core, it can support efficient temperature-controlled transport. The right body build depends on the vehicle and service conditions.
Reference configurations may cover approximately −25°C to +25°C with an appropriately selected refrigeration unit. Actual performance depends on the system build and operating conditions.
Light, intermediate and heavy commercial vehicle platforms can be evaluated. Chassis suitability is checked against body size, payload, refrigeration equipment and use case.
Share your chassis or vehicle model, cargo type, target temperature, body dimensions, route profile, loading process and any required options.
